Administrator Jeffrey Robert Thompson’s Motion for Court Order to Access Decedent’s Digital Assets and Device (ROA 38) is GRANTED.

Jeffrey Robert Thompson (Thompson) is the administrator of the estate of Scott W. Thompson (Decedent), who owned an iPhone 14 ProMax, phone number 714-454-0045 (Phone Number) associated with an Apple ID account. Decedent was the owner of all accounts related to that Phone Number.

As administrator of the estate, Thompson is Decedent’s agent and Thompson’s authorization constitutes lawful consent in connection with any account associated with the Phone Number within the meaning of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act or equivalent law. Accordingly, Thompson is entitled to access Decedent’s personal data from any account related to the Phone Number, which may contain third-party, personally identifiable information or data.

The motion is GRANTED.
