Previous Tentative Ruling:
On December 16, 2025, Plaintiff Vanessa Kaskiris served Requests for Production of Documents, Set No. Three on Defendant The Regents of the University of California. (Candappa Decl. ¶ 4, ex. 1.)
Defendant served responses and documents on January 15, 2025. (Candappa Decl. ¶ 7, ex. 2.)
Thereafter, the parties met and conferred via email and telephone. (Candappa Decl. ¶9.)
On February 26, 2026, Plaintiff Vanessa Kaskiris filed a Motion to Compel Further Verified Responses to Request for Production, Set. Three and a request for Sanction.
On March 11, 2026, Defendant filed its opposition stating that they continue to produce on a rolling basis as confirmed via its recent discovery motion alleging that discovery will be complete in 90 days. (Trimble Decl. ¶ 7, Opp. p. 7.)
On March 17, 2026, Plaintiff filed her Reply claiming that Defendant has not completed its production and several defects remain and request sanctions.
Trial in this case is set for September 28, 2026.
The Court CONTINUES the motion to be with the other discovery motion on June 2, 2026, at 2:30 pm in Dept. 518. The Court expects that Defendant will have completed its production before this date.
If production has occurred, Plaintiff is urged to withdraw this motion prior to the hearing.
If the parties are unable to resolve their discovery dispute, the parties MUST file a joint separate statement no later than May 18, 2026, briefly describing the remaining issues. The joint separate statement must not exceed 20 pages, excluding the caption page.
