Notice is proper and Ashok Elluswamy et the motion is unopposed (plaintiff Laura Bolton filed a joinder in the al. motion). “To ensure the prompt disposition of civil cases, the dates assigned for a trial are firm.” (CRC 3.1332(a).) “The court may grant a continuance only on an affirmative showing of good cause requiring the continuance.” (CRC 3.1332(c).) The moving papers do not explain why the parties set trial in this matter at the September 2025 trial setting conference even though substantial discovery apparently remained incomplete. But on good cause shown (particularly the information contained in the reply supporting this motion), the motion is GRANTED. The new trial date will be June 21, 2027, at 8:45 a.m. in Dept.
