CRYSTAL BANKS VS. MIDELTON RAVYN YOKO ET AL

Matter on calendar for Thursday, July 31, 2025, Line 6, DEFENDANT RAVYN MIDDLETON's Motion For Order Compelling Plaintiffs Attendance At Deposition And For An Order Imposing Monetary Sanctions.

The unopposed motion of defendant Ravyn Middleton for an order compelling plaintiff Crystal Banks's attendance at deposition, and for sanctions, is granted. Banks has not appeared at duly noticed depositions. She is ordered to appear for deposition at a date specified by Middleton and the deposition shall occur by August 22, 2025 unless the parties agree otherwise. Middleton shall meet and confer about the selected date. The court finds that Banks's failure to appear at a duly noticed deposition is a misuse of the discovery process and orders her to pay $720 to Middleton within 30 days of entry of this order.

For the 9:00 a.m. calendar, all attorneys and parties may appear in Department 301 remotely or in person. Remote hearings will be conducted by videoconference using Zoom. The text of the email shall include the name and contact information, including email address, of the attorney or party who will appear at the hearing.

Counsel for the prevailing party is required to prepare a proposed order which repeats verbatim the substantive portion of the tentative ruling and must email it to contestdept301tr@sftc.org prior to the hearing even if the tentative ruling is not contested.

The court no longer provides a court reporter in the Law & Motion or Discovery Department. Parties may retain their own reporter, who may appear in the courtroom or remotely.
