Defendant Live Oak School's Motion To Compel Deposition Of Jasiah L. With Production Of Documents; Request For Monetary Sanctions is GRANTED. Both parties are admonished meet and confer must be "in person, by telephone, or by videoconference." (Code of Civil Procedure section 2016.040(a).)

The court does not find Plaintiff and his counsel acted with substantial justification in connection with this discovery. Plaintiff and counsel, jointly and severally, shall pay to Defendant Live Oak School $5,290 as sanctions, payment no later than 30 days after notice of this order. (See Code of Civil Procedure sections 2023.010, 2023.030, 2023.020, 2025.450(g), 2025.480(j), 2031.310(h).) (The Court's complete tentative ruling was emailed to the parties.)
