Ruling

2023CUPP012195: JAMES WALD, et al. vs TRAVIS EDWARD MARTIN, et al. 09/09/2026 in Department 42 Demurrer and Motion to Strike First Amended Complaint

Motions: 1. Defendant Airlink Internet, Inc’s Demurrer to the First Amended Complaint (unopposed) 2. Defendant Airlink Internet, Inc’s Motion to Strike to the First Amended Complaint (unopposed) Tentative Ruling:

Defendant Airlink Internet, Inc.’s Demurrer to the First Amended Complaint is SUSTAINED without leave to amend. Alter ego liability allows a plaintiff to pierce the corporate veil to reach the assets of an individual, or less commonly, to conduct reverse veil piercing to allow a creditor to seize corporate assets to satisfy the debt of a judgment debtor. It is not a mechanism by which to hold a corporate defendant liable for the torts of an individual.

Defendant Airlink Internet, Inc.’s Motion to Strike the First Amended Complaint is DENIED as moot.

Defendant to give notice.
