FORD MOTOR COMPANY, A DELAWARE CORPORATION ET AL | Court Date: | | 2025-10-01 09:00 AM | Calendar Matter: | | MOTION FOR WITHDRAWAL OF ATTORNEY OF RECORD | Rulings: | | On the Law & Motion/Discovery calendar for Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Line 3, PLAINTIFF GALA ALLEN, AN INDIVIDUAL MOTION FOR WITHDRAWAL OF ATTORNEY OF RECORD

Before the court is an unopposed Motion to be Relieved as Counsel from Counsel Matthew Treybig and Quill & Arrow, LLP, counsel of record for Plaintiff Gala Allen. The motion is DENIED. The record before the court does not support the relief requested.

The gist of counsel's motion is that they are now unable to "cal[l] and emai[l]" their client because, as they recently learned, she is incarcerated. Contrary to their contention, counsel can, in fact, meaningfully and ethically represent a client who is incarcerated. Counsel has not demonstrated "it would be prejudicial for Plaintiff's counsel to proceed with the case under the current conditions." Counsel can visit their client investigate the facts, assess the circumstances and, if appropriate, discuss the possibility of a substitution of counsel.

Moving Party is ordered to prepare a proposed order which repeats the above text verbatim and email it to contestdept302tr@sftc.org prior to the time set for hearing.
