24CV069044: RUIZ vs BOISE CASCADE COMPANY; AND DOES 1 THROUGH 10, INCLUSIVE,, et al. 08/31/2026 Compliance Hearing re: Final Distribution in Department 21

Tentative Ruling - 08/26/2026 S. Raj Chatterjee

The Compliance Hearing re: Final Distribution scheduled for 08/31/2026 is vacated.

The filing on 7/31/26 states: "On July 3, 2026, the check-cashing period for Settlement Class Members expired, which was one hundred and twenty (120) days from the date Individual Settlement Payment checks were issued. Ultimately, five (5) checks, totaling $1,538.61, remain uncashed." The cost of further efforts to distribute the funds would outweigh the benefits.

The Court finds that the distribution is complete.

The court ORDERS that the claims administrator may distribute the residual to the cy pres beneficiary.

The court ORDERS that the claims administrator may distribute the 10% of attorneys fees.

The court ORDERS that counsel for plaintiff transmit the appropriate documents to the Judicial Council. (CCP 384.5; Govt Code 68520.)
