Tentative Ruling - 08/25/2026 Patrick McKinney
Defendant CVS Pharmacy, Inc., Longs Drug Stores California, LLC, Safeway Inc., and Walgreen Co.'s (Defendants) Ex Parte Application for an order shortening time to hear their application for order granting pro hac vice admission of Michael Lisak ("Applicant") is GRANTED and the hearing is ADVANCED to Friday, August 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
The Application for Admission does not comply with the requirements of CRC Rule 9.40 in that Mr. Lisak does not state "the title of each court and cause in which the applicant has filed an application to appear as counsel pro hac vice in this state in the preceding two years, the date of each application, and whether or not it was granted." (CRC 9.40(d)(5).) Instead, the Application refers only to when another attorney has been admitted pro hac vice before this court. (Application para. 10.)
Applicant may submit a corrected application before the continued hearing.
The Hearing on Motion to be Admitted Pro Hac Vice filed by LONGS DRUG STORES CALIFORNIA, L.L.C., individually, as alter-ego of, and as successor-in-interest to LONGS DRUG STORES CALIFORNIA, INC.
