Procedural History 17 1) Petitioner Trang Ngo Yee (Mother) and Respondent Dickson Yee (Father) have one minor child, 18 Ethan (DOB: 10/14/2011, age 14).

Both parties are self-represented. 19 2) A Judgment was entered in this matter on 10/27/2015 awarding joint legal custody to the parties 20 and sole physical custody to Mother. 21 3) On for hearing is Mother’s Request for Order filed 3/2/2026 asking the Court for authority to 22 renew Ethan’s passport, which is set to expire on 7/7/2026. Mother states that she plans to travel 23 to Vietnam this summer to visit her father (Ethan’s grandfather). Mother attached copies of a 24 letter, email, and text message requesting Father’s participation and consent in renewing Ethan’s 25 passport, but Mother states she received no response to any of these communications. 26 4) There is no Proof of Service on file for Mother’s Request for Order and Father did not file a 27 Responsive Declaration. 28

1 B. Findings and Order 2 1) As there is no Proof of Service on file evidencing service of Mother’s Request for Order and 3 because this motion was erroneously not first set on a Monday readiness calendar, the hearing 4 will be continued to Monday, 5/11/2026 at 9:00 AM in Dept. 404. 5 2) On or before 4/28/2026, Mother shall have a third party age 18 years or older serve Father with 6 the following documents by email and U.S. mail: 7 a. Request for Order filed 3/2/2026; 8 b. Blank Responsive Declaration (FL-320); 9 c. Findings and Order After Hearing from the 4/21/2026 hearing date (which will be mailed 10 to Mother); and 11 d.

Tentative Ruling

Instructions 12 3) Before 5/11/2026, Mother shall file a Proof of Service that shows she complied with the orders 13 set forth above. 14 4) Mother is encouraged to contact the ACCESS Center for assistance.
