Court’s Order to Show Cause RE: Why Shawnae Bowen should not be held in Contempt
2023PRDE013194: IN THE MATTER OF LINDA EVANS 08/05/2026 in Department J6 Court's Order to Show Cause RE: Why Shawnae Bowen should not be held in Contempt for failure to file accounting
At the hearing on 4/15/26, the Court granted the petition to compel accounting filed by Probate Advance, LLC (PAL). The Court ordered the administrator Shawnae Bowen to serve and file a statutory accounting for the period 10/21/21 through 1/31/26 by 6/5/26. She failed to comply.
On 7/1/26, the Court also ordered Ms. Bowen to file an I&A. The Court ordered that a citation issue pursuant to Probate Code section 11051 requiring Shawnae Bowen to appear and show cause why she should not be punished for contempt. The Court then set this OSC. The mandatory appearance by Ms. Bowen is required.
As of 8/2/26, Ms. Bowen has failed to file the account or an I&A.
If Ms. Bowen does not appear and/or file the required account, the Court intends to find her in contempt and to impose a daily fine of $100.00 pursuant to the Conservatorship of Farrant 67 Cal.App.5th 370 (2021). The Court intends also to remove her as the administrator and to appoint the Public Administrator as the successor administrator upon statutory notice to the Public Administrator. (Prob. Code, §§ 11052, 7621.)
PAL to give notice of the ruling, including to the attorney of record for Ms. Bowen and the Public Administrator.
