The unopposed Application of Thomas J. Morel (Counsel) to appear pro hac vice on behalf of Defendant Union Carbide Corporation is GRANTED. (Cal. Rules of Court, rule 9.40.) Counsel is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Illinois and has been associated with Florence McClain, counsel of record, who are active members of the California State Bar. (Morel Decl., ¶¶ 3, 6.) In the preceding two years, counsel has filed two applications to appear pro hac vice in California. (Id. at ¶ 8.)
Court records reflect that counsel has submitted an application fee of five hundred dollars ($500) (Govt. Code § 70617(e)(2).) The Court sets a compliance date for Tuesday July 27, 2027 at 1:30 p.m. in Department 18. If the renewal fee has been paid at least 10 calendar days before the hearing, no appearance will be required. The clerk is directed to serve endorsed-file copies of this order, with proof of service to all counsel and any self-represented parties of record by mail.
