Ruling

23CV043692: VERO PROPERTIES, LLC vs CHARLES, et al. 07/27/2026 Hearing on Motion - Other Termination Sanctions to Strike Defendant Julian Chew's Responses to Discovery; filed by VERO PROPERTIES, LLC (Plaintiff) CRS# 453611082165 in Department 19

Tentative Ruling - 07/22/2026 Joscelyn Jones

On Plaintiff’s unopposed Motion to Strike Defendant Juian Chew’s Answer, PARTIES ARE TO APPEAR.

On June 29, 2026, the Court granted Plaintiff’s ex parte application for an order advancing the hearing of this motion from September 2, 2026 to July 27, 2026. Plaintiff has not filed a proof of service demonstrating that the June 29, 2026 order was ever served on Chew. Therefore, it does not appear that Chew was informed that this hearing would be taking place on July 27, 2026.

If Plaintiff served Chew with notice that this motion would be heard on July 27, 2026, Plaintiff shall file proof of service demonstrating that, and counsel shall bring a copy of the proof of service to the hearing. Plaintiff’s counsel shall also notify Chew, by email and telephone, of this hearing and this tentative ruling.
