Matter on calendar for Thursday, July 16, 2026, Line 6, PLAINTIFF MARCO MOXQUUZ's Motion To Compel Further Responses To Plaintiffs Request For Production Of Documents, Set Two.

Plaintiff Marco Ahzi Moxquuz's motion to compel further responses to requests for production of documents, set two, is granted in part and denied in part. Defendant FCA US LLC is ordered to produce other customers' complaints similar to the alleged defects claimed by plaintiff, limited to vehicles purchased in California for the same year, make, and model of the subject vehicle. The motion is otherwise denied. Moxquuz's discovery requests are disproportionate to the case, and Moxquuz's motion does not "set forth specific facts showing good cause justifying the discovery sought by the demand." (Code Civ. Proc., sec. 2031.310, subd. (b)(1).) The court concludes that both parties' discovery positions lacked substantial justification in part and does not order sanctions.

Counsel for the prevailing party is required to prepare a proposed order which repeats verbatim the substantive portion of the tentative ruling and must email it to contestdept301tr@sftc.org prior to the hearing even if the tentative ruling is not contested.

The court no longer provides a court reporter in the Law & Motion or Discovery Department. Parties may retain their own reporter, who may appear in the courtroom or remotely.
