In this chapter:

(1)"Commercial motor vehicle" means:

(A)a commercial motor vehicle as defined by 49 C.F.R. Section 390.5, if operated interstate; or

(B)a commercial motor vehicle as defined by Section 548.001, if operated intrastate.

(2)"Department" means the Department of Public Safety.

(3)"Director" means the public safety director.
