A motor vehicle shall be equipped with:

(1)front safety belts if safety belt anchorages were part of the manufacturer's original equipment on the vehicle; or

(2)for a motor vehicle that is an assembled vehicle, as defined by Section 731.001, front safety belts in vehicles that contain safety belt anchorages. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995. Amended by:
