(a)If the estimated amount of a proposed contract to purchase vehicles, equipment, or supplies is more than $15,000, the board shall ask for competitive bids as provided by Subchapter B, Chapter 271, Local Government Code.
(b)This section does not apply to:
(1)the purchase of property from a public agency; or
(2)a contract for personal or professional services.
