(a)Any person who is a Texas resident or other person designated by the commission is entitled to receive from the department a license allowing fishing for sporting purposes in public water for a period of 14 consecutive days or other period set by the commission. The commission may authorize the issuance of more than one type of license under this subsection and may prescribe the categories of persons to whom the licenses may be issued.
(b)The fee for a temporary sportfishing license is an amount set by the commission.
