(a)A person who violates this chapter or a rule adopted or an order issued under this chapter is liable for a civil penalty not to exceed $5,000 a day.

(b)At the request of the medical board, the attorney general shall bring an action to recover a civil penalty authorized under this section. Added by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 326, Sec. 18, eff. Sept. 1, 2003. Amended by:
