(a)If principal, accrued interest, late charges, and other fees and expenses on a sale of sovereign land are not paid when due as required by the terms set by the board, the land is subject to forfeiture by the commissioner by entry on the file containing the papers "Land Forfeited" or similar words, the date of the forfeiture, and the official signature of the commissioner.
(b)After the entry is made on the file, the land and all payments that have been made for it are forfeited to the state, and the land may be resold in accordance with the provisions of this subchapter.
