§ 81.196 — DISCHARGE BEFORE EXPIRATION OF COURT ORDER

View on source(a)The health authority or department may direct the head of a facility to which a person was committed for inpatient health services or that provides outpatient health services to discharge the person at any time before the court order expires if the health authority or department determines that the person no longer meets the criteria for court-ordered health services.
(b)The health authority or department shall consider before discharging the person whether the person should receive outpatient health services in accordance with:
(1)a court order; or
(2)a modified order under Section 81.182 that directs the person to participate in outpatient health services.
(c)A discharge under Subsection (a) terminates the court order.
