A council member may not receive compensation for service as a member of the council but is entitled to reimbursement for travel expenses incurred by the member while conducting the business of the council as provided by the General Appropriations Act. Added by Acts 2017, 85th Leg., R.S., Ch. 316 (H.B. 5), Sec. 29, eff. September 1, 2017. Repealed by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 541 (H.B. 140), Sec. 7(6), eff. September 1, 2026.
