(a)The department may make a contract with a county to use the services of the county's juvenile probation department for the supervision of children within the county who are on furlough from a department facility or who are released under supervision from a department facility.

(b)Payments under a contract described by Subsection (a) shall be made to the county treasurer on a quarterly schedule.

(c)The department may not pay a county for supervision of a child for any time after the child:

(1)is discharged from the department's custody;

(2)is returned to a department facility; or

(3)transfers the child's residence to another county or state.
