(a)To be eligible for appointment as a magistrate, a person must:
(1)be a citizen of the United States; and
(2)have resided in Collin County for at least the four years preceding the person's appointment.
(b)A magistrate appointed under Section 54.2201 must take the constitutional oath of office required of appointed officers of this state. Added by Acts 2019, 86th Leg., R.S., Ch. 606 (S.B. 891), Sec. 5.04, eff. September 1, 2019. Amended by:
