(a)The supreme court, the court of criminal appeals, and each of the courts of appeals may employ and commission a peace officer to protect the court.

(b)A peace officer commissioned under this section holds office at the will of the court served by the officer.

(c)A person may not be commissioned as a peace officer under this section unless the person meets all standards for licensing as a peace officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Added by Acts 1993, 73rd Leg., ch. 695, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1993. Amended by:
