The commissioner, in consultation with the Texas School Safety Center and the state fire marshal, shall adopt rules:

(1)providing best practices for conducting emergency school drills and exercises, including definitions for relevant terms; and

(2)designating the number and type of mandatory school drills to be conducted each semester of the school year, not to exceed a total of eight drills. Added by Acts 2019, 86th Leg., R.S., Ch. 464 (S.B. 11), Sec. 13, eff. June 6, 2019. Amended by:
