View on source(a)Before imposing a sentence, a court shall, as applicable, inquire as to whether a victim impact statement has been returned to the attorney representing the state and, if a statement has been returned to the attorney, consider the information provided in the statement.
(b)On inquiry by the sentencing court, the attorney representing the state shall make a copy of the statement available for consideration by the court.
