View on sourceIf the medical examiner considers a complete autopsy to be unnecessary to determine a person's cause of death, the medical examiner may perform a limited autopsy by taking blood samples or other samples of body fluids, tissues, or organs, to determine the cause of death or whether a crime has been committed.
