If a death occurs under circumstances described by Article 49A.109(a), a person may not disturb or remove the body from the position in which the body is found without authorization from the medical examiner, or the medical examiner's authorized deputy, except to:
(1)preserve the body from loss or destruction; or
(2)maintain the flow of traffic on a highway, railroad, or airport. Added by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 202 (H.B. 1610), Sec. 1.01, eff. April 1, 2027. Text of article effective on April 01, 2027
