View on source(a)A person commits an offense if the person, with intent to avoid, evade, or prevent compliance with a civil investigative demand issued under this subchapter, knowingly removes from any place, conceals, withholds, destroys, mutilates, alters, or by any other means falsifies any documentary material or otherwise provides inaccurate information.
(b)An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by:
(1)a fine of not more than $5,000;
(2)confinement in a county jail for not more than one year; or
(3)both a fine and confinement.
