Except as otherwise provided by Subchapter B, Chapter 4, an interest exchange takes effect at the time provided in the plan of exchange or otherwise agreed to by the parties, except that an interest exchange that requires a filing under Subchapter D takes effect on the acceptance of the filing of the certificate of exchange by the secretary of state or county clerk, as appropriate.
