View on source(a)A person who violates Section 501.101 is liable to this state for a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed $500 for each violation. The attorney general or the prosecuting attorney in the county in which the violation occurs may bring an action to recover the civil penalty imposed under this subsection. (a-1) A person who violates Section 501.1011 is liable to this state for a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed $500 for each calendar month in which a violation occurs. The civil penalty may not be imposed for more than one violation that occurs in a month. The attorney general or the prosecuting attorney in the county in which the violation occurs may bring an action to recover the civil penalty imposed under this subsection.
(b)The attorney general may bring an action in the name of the state to restrain or enjoin a person from violating this subchapter. Added by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 885 (H.B. 2278), Sec. 2.01, eff. April 1, 2009. Amended by:
