§ 11.151 — Annual legislative appropriation to contingency fund for use of President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives

There is established a legislative contingency fund consisting of $20,000 for the President of the Senate and $20,000 for the Speaker of the House of Representatives, which amounts shall be set aside annually from moneys appropriated for legislative expense. These funds shall be disbursed by the Chief Financial Officer upon receipt of vouchers authorized by the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Such funds may be expended at the unrestricted discretion of the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Representatives in carrying out their official duties during the entire period between the date of their election as such officers at the organizational meeting held pursuant to s. 3(a), Art. III of the State Constitution and the next general election.History.—pt Intro Justify">The Office of Legislative Services, designated as such by joint rule of the Legislature or by agreement between the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, shall provide support services that are determined by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to be necessary and that can be effectively and efficiently provided jointly to both houses.
(2)The joint committees and other joint units of the Legislature shall be governed by joint rules of the Senate and House of Representatives.
(3)The Office of Legislative Services shall deliver such vouchers covering legislative expenses as required to the Chief Financial Officer and, if found to be correct, state warrants shall be issued therefor.
