9-462.05. Enforcement A. The legislative body of a municipality has authority to enforce any zoning ordinance enacted pursuant to this article in the same manner as other municipal ordinances are enforced. B. If any building structure is erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted or maintained or any building, structure or land is used in violation of the provisions of this article or of any ordinance adopted pursuant to the provisions of this article, the legislative body of the municipality may institute any appropriate action to: 1. Prevent such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance or use. 2. Restrain, correct or abate the violation. 3. Prevent the occupancy of such building, structure or land. 4. Prevent any illegal act, conduct, business or use in or about such premises. C. By ordinance, the legislative body shall establish the office of zoning administrator. The zoning administrator is charged with responsibility for enforcement of the zoning ordinance. D. By ordinance, the legislative body shall establish all necessary and appropriate rules and procedures governing application for zoning amendment, review and approval of plans, issuance of any necessary permits or compliance certificates, inspection of buildings, structures and lands and any other actions which may be considered necessary or desirable for enforcement of the zoning ordinance.
