3-2017. Exemption A. No slaughterer, packer or stockyard operator shall bleed or slaughter any livestock except by a humane method, provided, that the chief state veterinary meat inspector may, by administrative order, exempt from compliance with this article, for a period not to exceed one year after the effective date of this article, any slaughterer, packer or stockyard operator if he finds that an earlier compliance would cause such person an undue hardship. B. No person slaughtering or butchering any livestock for his own use shall be subject to any of the provisions of this article.
