3-1301. Gathering cattle for tournament or contest without consent of owner; classification A person who knowingly gathers range cattle for the purpose of a tournament or contest for amusement or reward, or competition for prizes, or who engages in a steer-tying contest or exhibition of steer-tying, or who casts, ropes or throws a horse, cow or other kind of animal without the written consent of the owner, except in the necessary work done on the range or elsewhere in handling such animals, is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor.
