11-176. Canvass of votes; determination of election result The board shall meet on the second Monday after the special election, or at the time fixed by law after a general election, and canvass the votes upon the questions. If sixty per cent or more of the votes cast upon the question favor the change, and if a city or town has received a majority of the votes cast at the election, the board shall thereupon issue its order declaring the county seat removed, that the city or town so receiving the majority of the votes cast shall thereafter be the county seat of the county, and that as soon as practicable, all public records be removed thereto.
