View on leginfo.ca.govThe department may employ an attorney at law and such assistant attorneys as are necessary, said attorney to act as the attorney and legal adviser of the department in all highway matters. No contract, relating to highways, awarded by the department shall be binding on the State until it is approved in writing by the Attorney General or by the attorney so employed.
