View on leginfo.ca.gov(a)A licensee of an intermediate care facility/developmentally disabled habilitative, as defined in subdivision (e) of Section 1250, or of an intermediate care facility/developmentally disabled, as defined in subdivision (g) of Section 1250, for no more than six residents, except for the larger facilities provided for in paragraph (1) of subdivision (k), may install and utilize delayed egress devices of the time delay type in combination with secured perimeters in accordance with the provisions of this section.
(b)For purposes of this section, the following definitions shall apply:
(1)“Delayed egress device” means a device that precludes the use of exits for a predetermined period of time. These devices shall not delay any resident’s departure from the facility for longer than 30 seconds.
