View on leginfo.ca.govAny person who knowingly removes, defaces, covers, alters, or destroys the identification mark required by this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for a term not exceeding one year, or by a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both the fine and imprisonment.
