Petition for Minor’s Compromise re: Talea Rodriguez

CONTINUED on the court’s own motion to June 30, 2026, at 8:15 a.m. in Courtroom 8, to allow for Petitioner to file supplemental documents.

Before granting the petition, the court requires further documentation regarding costs claimed for reimbursement. Attachment 13b lists case costs in the amount of $356.55. However, the costs are not listed in a manner where the court can determine the reasonableness of the costs claimed.

In addition, due to the extensive injuries to the minor child and in light of the limited settlement amount, the court requires further documentation regarding the Defendant’s ability to provide personal contribution to the settlement. Petitioner has provided an asset search, but there is no declaration by the Defendant or by Petitioner’s counsel regarding Defendant’s inability to pay beyond the insurance policy limits.

Supplemental documents are to be filed by June 23, 2026.

Petitioner is also to lodge with the court a prefilled order appointing the guardian ad litem. The order is to be lodged by June 9, 2026.
