The court would like to review the "detailed time records" and "complete documentation" referred to in paragraph 17 of Mrk Todzo's declaration. The court would also like an explanation of why the total settlement payments were allocated among civil penalties, additional settlement payments, and attorneys' fees and costs in the amounts set forth in the settlement agreement. The court is also interested in whether plaintiff and its counsel have been involved in other nicotine and nicotine pouch investigations and litigation and, if so, how those other investigations and litigation impacted the terms of the settlements for which court approval is sought.

For the 9:00 a.m. calendar, all attorneys and parties may appear in Department 302 remotely or in person. Remote hearings will be conducted by videoconference using Zoom. The court no longer provides a court reporter in the Law & Motion Department. Parties may retain their own reporter, who may appear in the courtroom or remotely. A retained reporter must be a California certified court reporter (CSR), for only a CSR's transcript may be used in California courts.
