Moving defendants Sanchez and Sons Transport and Omar Sanchez Ortiz move to compel an in-person deposition and a physical examination of plaintiff Mengyu Liu (a plaintiff from consolidated case no. CGC-24-612232) in this county. Liu relocated to Ningbo, China shortly after filing this case and is no longer present in the U.S.

The Sanchez defendants' motion is denied without prejudice, and the court awards partial sanctions to Liu, for the reasons discussed herein.

Counsel for the prevailing party is required to prepare a proposed order which repeats verbatim the substantive portion of the tentative ruling and must email it to contestdept301tr@sftc.org prior to the hearing even if the tentative ruling is not contested.

The court no longer provides a court reporter in the Law & Motion or Discovery Department. Parties may retain their own reporter, who may appear in the courtroom or remotely.
