Before the court is a Motion to be Relieved as Counsel from Counsel John Mlnarik and The Mlnarik Law Group, Inc., counsel of record for Defendant Robert A. Johnson. The motion is OFF CALENDAR.

On August 11, 2025, the court issued a tentative ruling denying counsel's earlier infirm motion to be relieved as counsel. Further, the court ordered counsel to "lodge by email to contestdept302tr@sftc.org no later than 8:30 am on 8/12/2025 a proposed order quoting the above text verbatim." The next day, the court adopted its tentative ruling. A month has passed, and the court has yet to receive counsel's proposed order.

Counsel may renew this motion after he lodges the proposed order and serves the executed order on all parties entitled to service. Counsel should note that motions to be relieved as counsel are generally not granted if the trial date is near.

This is an order of the court. Violations of written court orders may be addressed through sanctions, up to and including contempt. Counsel must lodge by email to contestdept302tr@sftc.org no later than 8:30 am on 9/9/2025 a proposed order quoting the above text verbatim.

For the 9:00 a.m. calendar, all attorneys and parties may appear in Department 302 remotely or in person. Remote hearings will be conducted by videoconference using Zoom. The court no longer provides a court reporter in the Law & Motion Department. Parties may retain their own reporter, who may appear in the courtroom or remotely. A retained reporter must be a California certified court reporter (CSR), for only a CSR's transcript may be used in California courts.
