Ruling
TENTATIVE RULING:
APPEARANCES ARE NOT REQUIRED. Absent objection, the Petition for Guardianship is GRANTED and the Court will sign the proposed order submitted by Petitioner(s). Petitioner/Guardian is directed to file the Confidential Guardianship Status Report, GC-251, within one year and 30 days from the date of the order granting the Petition for Guardianship, and annually thereafter. (Form GC-251 is available at the following URL: https://www.courts.ca.gov/forms.htm) To ensure compliance with the requirement of an annual GC-251, this matter is SET for Case Management Conference at 9:00 a.m. on October 5, 2027, in Department 61.
If the Guardian has at that time filed the required GC-251, an appearance will be waived and a new hearing date shall be set for one year out for the filing of the annual Status Report. Further advisements which are not part of tentative ruling: If any objections are filed at or before the time of hearing, the Court will not adopt the tentative ruling and will, instead, set the matter for a contested hearing and the parties will be notified by the Court as to when they should next appear.

8. Guardianship of Evan Michael Poorman 26PR00799 Appointment of Guardian
TENTATIVE RULING:
APPEARANCES ARE NOT REQUIRED. Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 329, the Court has referred the matter to the Sonoma County Department of Family, Youth and Children’s services for assessment. The case is CONTINUED to October 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Department 61 for further proceedings regarding the guardianship petition.
9. Guardianship of Amelia Sophia Panoski SPR87247 Termination of Guardianship
TENTATIVE RULING:
APPEARANCES ARE NOT REQUIRED. The court has received and considered the Petition for Termination of the Guardianship as well as the Report of Court Investigator Re: Petition for Termination of Guardianship. In light of the petition request, the Court orders Minor’s Counsel to prepare and file a report and recommendation, to include any objection to the petition, to be filed not later than September 30, 2026.
The Court notes the Court Investigator’s report states the guardian and the ward’s mother have both orally indicated their objection to the petition. Pursuant to Local Rule 6.2(F)(1), any party objecting to the petition is ordered to submit their objection in writing. As at least two parties have already made their intention to object known, and, as the matter is already being continued to permit the filing of a report from Minor’s Counsel, the Court orders that any written objection by any party be filed no later than September 30, 2026. Absent extraordinary circumstances, any written objection filed after September 30, 2026, will be deemed untimely and not considered. Pursuant to Local Rule 6.2(F)(2) & (3), should any party file a written objection to the petition, they are ordered to comply with the meet and confer requirement prior to the next court date.
The matter is CONTINUED to October 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Department 61. All prior orders remain in full force and effect.
