Plaintiff Maya Blyth's motion to compel defendant Leal Ugrin to provide further responses to RFP sets one and two is continued for hearing to December 30, 2025. In opposition, Ugrin states he is recovering from his recent stroke, is prepared to amend his written discovery responses by no later than December 1, 2025 (and sooner if he is able), and asks the court to continue the matter for hearing. This is a reasonable request in light of all the information before the court.
The parties are ordered to meet and confer telephonically or in person about any issues with Ugrin's responses or production within 10 days after the responses are served. If any outstanding issues remain, Blyth may update the court in a supplemental filing by no later than nine court days in advance of the continued hearing date. Ugrin may respond with a supplemental brief by no later than five court days in advance of the continued hearing date.
For the 9:00 a.m. calendar, all attorneys and parties may appear in Department 301 remotely or in person. Remote hearings will be conducted by videoconference using Zoom. The subject line of the email shall include the line number, case name and case number. The text of the email shall include the name and contact information, including email address, of the attorney or party who will appear at the hearing.
The court no longer provides a court reporter in the Law & Motion or Discovery Department. Parties may retain their own reporter, who may appear in the courtroom or remotely. A retained reporter must be a California certified court reporter (CSR), for only a CSR's transcript may be used in California courts.
