Plaintiff Julia Padilla's motion to compel deposition of defendant American Honda's PMQ is granted. There is good cause for the PMQ deposition as it is reasonably calculated to lead to the discovery of admissible evidence. (CCP 2017.010.) Plaintiff demonstrates reasonable meet and confer efforts and defendant has not been forthcoming with the discovery process. (Khoubian Decl., par. 8 and Ex. G.) Defendant does not cogently explain how the discovery is overly broad, irrelevant, or unduly burdensome. Defendant did not act with substantial justification. Defendant shall produce the PMQ for deposition by January 30, 2026. Defendant and its counsel (Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP) are jointly and severally liable for reasonable monetary sanctions of $3,035 that shall be paid by January 30, 2026.
