Defendant's unopposed motion to compel plaintiff to respond to its form interrogatories (set one) special interrogatories (set one), document inspection demands (set one), and request for statement of damages is granted. Plaintiff has failed to timely respond and has thereby waived objections. Plaintiff shall provide verified, objection-free responses within three weeks of notice of entry of this order.
Defendant seeks sanctions of $1060 for attorneys' fees and costs. The amount is reasonable and the court does not find that plaintiff acted with substantial justification. (See Code Civ. Proc., section 2030.290, subd. (c); id., section 2031.300, subd. (c); Rules of Court, Rule 3.1348, subd. (a).) Plaintiff is ordered to pay $1060 in sanctions to defendant within 30 days of notice of entry of this order.
For the 9:00 a.m. calendar, all attorneys and parties may appear in Department 301 remotely or in person. Remote hearings will be conducted by videoconference using Zoom. The subject line of the email shall include the line number, case name and case number. The text of the email shall include the name and contact information, including email address, of the attorney or party who will appear at the hearing.
Counsel for the prevailing party is required to prepare a proposed order which repeats verbatim the substantive portion of the tentative ruling and must email it to contestdept301tr@sftc.org prior to the hearing even if the tentative ruling is not contested.
