FARALLON CAPITAL MANAGEMENT, LLC, A DELAWARE ET AL Case Number: | | CGC25628154 | Case Title: | | YUQI LIN VS. FARALLON CAPITAL MANAGEMENT, LLC, A DELAWARE ET AL | Court Date: | | 2026-08-24 09:00 AM | Calendar Matter: | | Notice Of Motion And Motion To Compel Plaintiffs Deposition | Rulings: | | Matter on calendar for Monday, August 24, 2026, Line 9, DEFENDANT FARALLON CAPITAL MANAGEMENT, LLC's Motion To Compel Plaintiffs Deposition.
Defendant Farallon Capital Management, LLC's motion to compel plaintiff Yuqui Lin's deposition is granted. Lin must submit to a deposition with a Mandarin interpreter provided by Farallon on a mutually agreeable date no later than September 4, 2026 at the office of Farallon's counsel.
The June 25, 2026 order, when read in the context of the parties' papers submitted on the motion and the transcript of the hearing, shows that the only issue on the prior motion was whether Farallon should have been able to proceed with Lin's deposition without having provided a Mandarin interpreter. That order did not determine that Farallon forfeited its right to take Lin's deposition and the doctrine of issue preclusion is inapplicable. Farallon maintains the right to take Lin's deposition on the condition that it provides Lin with a Mandarin interpreter, which it said it would do in the further amended notice of Lin's deposition underlying this motion.
