In Re: Petition of J.G. Wentworth Originations, LLC

Petition for Approval of Transfer of Payment Rights

Hearing Date: July 31, 2026

PARTIES TO APPEAR.

Petitioner J.G. Wentworth Originations, LLC (“Petitioner”) requests approval to transfer Victoria Malispina’s (“Transferor”) future payment rights totaling $110,432 for the purchase price of $72,000.

The Court has reviewed the following documents: (1) the original petition filed on June 2, 2026, (2) the amended petition filed on July 7, 2026, and (3) a Supplemental Exhibit “D,” consisting of Victoria Malispina’s Affidavit regarding the settlement agreement, filed on July 29, 2026.

When deciding whether to approve this Petition, the Court must consider the “totality of the circumstances,” which includes a review of 15 listed factors. [Ins. Code § 10139.5, subd. (b).] Further, “every petition for approval of a transfer of structured settlement payment rights...shall include” the information outlined in Insurance Code section 10139.5, subdivision (c).] After reviewing Petitioner’s filings, including Transferor’s affidavit, the Court has additional questions. [See Ins. Code § 10139.5, subd. (d).]

Petitioner and Transferor shall appear at tomorrow’s hearing to address the Court’s questions. If Transferor is unavailable, the Court is open to rescheduling the matter to a later date that works for everyone involved.
